Active kids voucher soccer: what it means for your family

If you are looking into active kids voucher soccer for your child, you are probably weighing up a junior league, some coaching sessions, or a holiday camp. KIKOFF runs junior football across Sydney, including caged 5-a-side leagues at Northern Beaches for ages U6 through U18, and Little Kickers coaching for toddlers and young kids at Canterbury and Northern Beaches. The NSW Active Kids voucher may apply to some of these programs, but eligibility, amounts and the current voucher round are set by the NSW Government and detailed on our help page. Always check that page before you register, since voucher rules change year to year.

Who the voucher is for

The Active Kids voucher is a NSW Government scheme aimed at helping cover the cost of registered kids' sport, including active kids football sydney families use for club and social competitions. It is not something KIKOFF sets the rules for. We apply it at checkout where it is accepted, but the amount, the eligible age range and the dates it can be used are all decided by the state government. For current detail, the source of truth is our help article, not this blog post.

Where KIKOFF runs junior football

Our main junior competition runs at KIKOFF Northern Beaches in Curl Curl, on caged 5-a-side pitches with futsal line markings. It is not an open pitch — the cage keeps the ball in play, which suits beginners and keeps the game moving. Age groups run from U6 right through to U18, across different nights of the week, from Friday evening right through midweek. Northern Beaches junior rounds run with our partner NBFA. We also run Little Kickers coaching for younger kids at KIKOFF Canterbury in Lakemba, starting from toddler age groups.

The bookable active kids holiday camp and junior leagues

Spring Holiday Camps at KIKOFF Northern Beaches are open for kids aged U6 to U11, running from Monday 28 September 2026 to Friday 9 October 2026. The price is $225 for the week, or $75 per day if you only need a day or two. This is the kind of active kids holiday camp booking parents often ask about when checking voucher eligibility — again, confirm with the help article whether camps of this kind qualify in the current round.

On the junior league side, individual entry for age groups like Friday Night U7, Tuesday U8/9 Girls, Wednesday U11/12 Girls, Wednesday U13/14 Girls, Tuesday U15/16 Girls and Thursday U16 Boys sits at $200 to $210 depending on the age group, with seasons running from early September through to 20 December 2026. Wednesday U18 Boys is a team entry at $1,700. All of these run at KIKOFF Northern Beaches.

How to redeem your voucher at registration

  1. Check your child's eligibility and the current voucher amount on the official NSW scheme and on our help page.
  2. Choose the KIKOFF junior league, Little Kickers class or holiday camp you want to book.
  3. Register individually (most junior leagues) or as part of a team, depending on the program.
  4. Apply the voucher code at the payment step, where it is accepted for that program.
  5. Bring any remaining balance owing, plus the basics covered in our what-to-bring guide, on the day.

If a program does not currently accept the voucher, or if your child's age falls outside the scheme's rules this year, our help article will say so clearly. Do not assume eligibility — nsw voucher soccer rules are reviewed by the government periodically.

What to bring on the day

Shin pads, running shoes, a water bottle and comfortable sports clothing cover most sessions. Specific gear requirements for Little Kickers or junior league nights are listed on our what-to-bring help page, since caged futsal-style pitches have slightly different footwear needs than open grass.

FAQs

Can I use an Active Kids voucher for any KIKOFF program?

Not necessarily. Voucher eligibility depends on the specific program and the current NSW Government rules for that voucher round. Check our help article before registering, since it is updated with the latest accepted programs and any age or date restrictions that apply.

Does the voucher cover holiday camps?

Some camps may be eligible, others may not, depending on the current scheme rules. The Spring Holiday Camps at KIKOFF Northern Beaches run for ages U6 to U11 from 28 September to 9 October 2026, priced at $225 per week or $75 per day. Confirm voucher eligibility on the help page before you book.

What age groups can play junior football at KIKOFF?

KIKOFF Northern Beaches runs junior leagues from U6 through to U18, across different weeknights. Little Kickers coaching at Canterbury and Northern Beaches caters to younger children starting from toddler age. Specific age bands and nights are listed against each program.

Is Northern Beaches an open pitch?

No. KIKOFF Northern Beaches has caged 5-a-side pitches with futsal line markings. The cage keeps the ball in play, which is popular with younger and newer players because there is less stopping and starting to chase the ball.

How do I apply the voucher when registering?

You enter the voucher code at the payment step during registration, where it is accepted for that program. If you are unsure whether a particular league or camp accepts it, check the help article first, since not all programs are eligible in every voucher round.

Who runs the junior leagues at Northern Beaches?

KIKOFF runs junior leagues at Northern Beaches in partnership with NBFA, who help deliver the Northern Beaches competitions alongside us.

For the full, current rules on eligibility, amounts and which KIKOFF programs accept it, read our Active Kids voucher help article before you register. If you are ready to look at junior leagues more broadly, see our Canterbury junior leagues page for other local options.
