6-a-side at Hensley Athletic Field: what's on this week
If you're chasing a game at 6 a side Hensley Athletic Field, the season is already rolling. KIKOFF Eastern Suburbs runs mens 6-a-side football on the open, floodlit synthetic pitches at 79 Corish Cir, Eastgardens. The current season started Monday 28 September 2026 and finishes Friday 18 December 2026. Several divisions are underway across Monday and Wednesday nights, with team and individual entry both available depending on the division. This guide covers which nights and divisions exist, what mid-season entry actually looks like, and what to bring if you're turning up solo.
This is eastgardens mid season soccer for adults who want a run without committing to a full winter club season. It suits players who already have boots and want a competitive game on a weeknight, solo or with mates.
Open pitches, not a cage
Hensley Athletic Field is open pitch, not caged. Restarts are by kick-in rather than off the boards. If you've played caged 5-a-side elsewhere in Sydney, expect a different rhythm here: more space, more running, and the ball goes out of play like a normal 11-a-side game. KIKOFF Eastern Suburbs has four 6-a-side pitches plus one 5-a-side pitch on site, all floodlit synthetic. Leagues here run seasonally, September to December only, alongside winter club football rather than instead of it.
Monday night divisions
- Monday Mens Division 1 — team entry $1,800, individual entry $295, both registration types open.
- Monday Mens Division 2 — team entry $1,800, individual entry $295, both registration types open.
- Monday Mens Mini (7 week season) — team entry $1,200, individual entry $250, team registration only, registration currently open.
Wednesday night divisions
- Wednesday Mens Division 1 — team entry $1,800, individual entry $295, both registration types open.
- Wednesday Mens Division 2 — team entry $1,800, individual entry $295, both registration types open.
- Wednesday Mens Division 3 — team entry $1,800, individual entry $295, both registration types open.
All divisions above run from Monday 28 September 2026 to Friday 18 December 2026. If you want wednesday 6 a side sydney football specifically, Wednesday has three divisions running, which usually means the widest range of standards to slot into.
How to get in mid-season
Most of these divisions take both team and individual entry, so a missing player or two doesn't rule you out. The Monday Mens Mini is the exception — it's team registration only, run over a shorter 7 week season, and registration is currently open. For everything else, individual entry sits at $295 across the standard divisions, or $250 for the Mini.
On the night, bring shin pads, boots suited to synthetic turf, and light and dark tops if you don't have a set kit — teams sort colours between themselves before kick-off. Turn up with enough time to find your pitch number among the four 6-a-side pitches on site. Games run to schedule through the evening, so check your fixture time rather than assuming an early or late slot.
FAQs
Is Hensley Athletic Field 5-a-side or 6-a-side?
It's 6-a-side. Eastgardens runs on open, uncaged pitches, which is a different setup to KIKOFF's caged 5-a-side venues elsewhere in Sydney. There's one 5-a-side pitch on site among four 6-a-side pitches, but the mens divisions covered here are all 6-a-side.
Can I join as an individual mid-season?
For Monday and Wednesday Mens Divisions 1, 2 and 3, yes — individual entry is $295 and registration is open for both teams and individuals. The Monday Mens Mini is team entry only.
What does individual entry actually include?
Individual entry gets you placed into a team within the division you sign up for. For a full breakdown of what's covered, see the help article on what's included in your entry fee.
When does the current season finish?
All the divisions listed here run through to Friday 18 December 2026, having started Monday 28 September 2026.
Are the rules different because it's open pitch?
Restarts are kick-in rather than off the boards, and the pitch is bigger than a caged 5-a-side setup. For the full rule set, check the league game rules page before your first game.
Is there a Thursday division at Eastgardens?
Not currently listed for this season — Monday and Wednesday are the nights running mens divisions at Hensley Athletic Field right now.
