Girls Soccer Sydney: Wednesday Nights at Canterbury

If you are after girls soccer Sydney parents can rely on for a proper weekly competition, KIKOFF Canterbury runs girls-only 5-a-side leagues on Wednesday nights. Games are for U8, U10, U12 and U14. The season starts Monday 12 October 2026 and finishes Wednesday 31 March 2027, so it covers all of summer and slots in neatly once winter club football wraps up. Teams cost $1,000 and individual entries cost $200. It is caged 5-a-side, floodlit, at 573a Punchbowl Road, Lakemba. Registration is open now, about two weeks out from the start.

What Girls-Only Soccer Looks Like

This is a girls football league Sydney families can join as a full team or as one player. Girls-only means every team on the night is girls, every division is girls, and the whole competition is set up around that age group and grade. It suits kids who already play club football and want a lighter summer season, and it suits kids who have never played and want a first taste of a team sport without a big commitment.

How It Runs at Canterbury

Canterbury has four caged 5-a-side pitches, floodlit and synthetic, open year-round. The cage keeps the ball in play off the walls, so there is less stopping and more actual game time. Girls 5-a-side at this age band means smaller teams, more touches, and games that move fast without needing a big squad on the sideline.

Divisions run U8 Girls Wednesday, U10 Girls Wednesday, U12 Girls Wednesday and U14 Girls Wednesday. All four start Monday 12 October 2026 and finish Wednesday 31 March 2027. Team entry is $1,000, individual entry is $200, and both registration types are open.

Booking a Spot: Team or Solo

You can register a full team for $1,000, or register your daughter individually for $200. If she is going in as part of a team, a join code lets her friends sign up under the same team once the team registration is done. If she is going in solo, KIKOFF will place her with a team where possible, so she is not left short of a squad on week one.

Families who play club football over winter often use this as their girls summer soccer Canterbury option once the association season ends in August. It is a good way to keep playing without the same weekly training load, right through until the following autumn.

Active Kids Voucher

Active Kids vouchers can be used against registration. See how to apply an Active Kids voucher for the steps.

What Happens on the Night

Turn up a few minutes early for the first game so there is time to find the right pitch. Bring shin pads, a water bottle, and boots suitable for synthetic turf. Coaches and staff are on site to run the games and keep things organised. For a full kit list, check what to bring to a KIKOFF game.

Child safety is taken seriously across every junior competition at Canterbury. Read more on our child safety page.

Beyond Canterbury: Northern Beaches

If you are based on the Northern Beaches, NBFA runs girls summer competitions at Curl Curl in partnership with KIKOFF. Worth a look if Lakemba is not the easiest trip for your family.
