Kids Summer Soccer League Sydney: Registration Opens This Week
If you are looking for a kids summer soccer league Sydney kids can join for the whole summer, KIKOFF's junior competition at Canterbury kicks off Monday 12 October 2026 and runs through to Wednesday 31 March 2027. It is 5-a-side, played on the caged floodlit pitches at Lakemba, with divisions from U6 to U16 for boys and girls. You can register three ways: create a team and invite mates, join a team using a friend's code, or sign up solo and get placed in a team. This post walks through each option so you know exactly what to do before kick-off.
Junior 5-a-Side at Canterbury: Who It's For
This is organised, weekly small-sided football for primary and high school-aged kids who want to keep playing over summer once winter club season wraps up. Games are played on KIKOFF Canterbury's caged 5-a-side pitches, where the ball stays in play off the walls, so there is more running and less standing around waiting for throw-ins.
The Weekly Schedule
Boys divisions play Monday and Tuesday: U10 and U12 Boys are Monday, and U6 and U8 Boys are Tuesday. U14 and U16 Boys play Thursday. Girls divisions all play Wednesday, covering U8, U10, U12 and U14. Every division starts Monday 12 October 2026 and finishes Wednesday 31 March 2027.
Three Ways to Join the Junior League
Registration is open now for all junior divisions. Team entry is $1,000 and individual entry is $200. Here is how each pathway works.
1. Create a Team and Share the Join Code
If you already have a group of kids keen to play together, one parent registers the team, pays the team entry, and receives a unique join code. Share that code with the other families in your group. Each of them uses it to link their child to your team roster. This is the easiest option if your child's winter team wants to stay together over summer.
2. Join With a Friend's Code
If another family has already set up a team, ask them for their join code. Enter it during registration and your child is added straight to that team. No need to pay the full team entry — you register your child individually and the code does the rest.
3. Register Solo
If your child does not have a ready-made team, register them individually for $200. KIKOFF places them into a team within their age division and grade. This is a common option for kids new to the area or new to KIKOFF, and plenty of solo sign-ups end up forming lasting friend groups over the season.
Active Kids Voucher at Checkout
NSW Active Kids vouchers can be applied at checkout when you register. Full eligibility details and how to redeem the voucher are covered in our Active Kids voucher help article.
What to Bring on Game Night
Kids need enclosed footwear suitable for synthetic turf, shin pads, a water bottle and a training top or bib colour if your team has one. Full details on gear are in our what to bring guide. Turn up around ten minutes before kick-off so coaches and team managers can sort out lineups.
