Summer soccer northern beaches: what's on at Curl Curl
Winter club football wraps up soon, and summer soccer on the Northern Beaches picks up straight after. From the week of Monday 7 September 2026 through to Sunday 20 December 2026, KIKOFF Northern Beaches at Harbord Bowling Club, Bennet Street, Curl Curl, hosts a full midweek competition calendar. It's not run by KIKOFF alone. The Northern Beaches Futsal Association (NBFA) is our partner and runs the competitions, while KIKOFF provides the venue: four floodlit synthetic pitches, futsal-style rules, no cage, kick-ins from the line. There are nights for mens, ladies, mixed, over 35s, over 40s, and juniors from U6 through U18.
Futsal northern beaches: what it actually means
At Curl Curl the games are played on line markings rather than inside a cage. That's a futsal-style ruleset: kick-ins instead of throw-ins, no walls to bounce off, and a game built around quick passing and close control. It suits players moving out of winter 11-a-side club football and into something faster and more social for the warmer months. If you want the detail on how games are scored and structured, the league game rules page covers it.
NBFA summer: nights, grades and who registers
The NBFA summer season at Curl Curl runs across five nights. Registration for these NBFA competitions goes through NBFA, not through KIKOFF directly, so head to the league page to find the right sign-up link for your grade.
- Monday: Over 35 Mens ($1,700 team entry), Ladies 5 ($1,700 team entry), and Monday U6 Mixed ($210 individual entry) — all run with NBFA, week of 7 September to 20 December 2026.
- Tuesday: Ladies 1/2, Over 40s Mixed (both $1,700 team entry), plus junior girls grades U8/9 and U15/16 ($210 individual entry each) — same season dates, run with NBFA.
- Wednesday: Ladies 3/4 and Wednesday Mixed KIKOFF ($1,700 team entry), junior girls U11/12 and U13/14 ($210 individual entry), and U18 Boys ($1,700 team entry) — run with NBFA.
- Thursday: Mens 6 ($1,700 team entry) and U16 Boys ($210 individual entry) — run with NBFA.
There's also the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter Cup, a Sunday Open Mixed one-off with team entry at $495, registration open now.
5-a-side Curl Curl: KIKOFF's own Friday juniors
Separate from the NBFA nights, KIKOFF runs its own Friday sessions at Curl Curl for the youngest players: U6 at 4pm and U7 at 5pm, both starting Friday 11 September 2026 and finishing Friday 18 December 2026, at $250 individual entry each. These are KIKOFF programs, registered individually through us rather than NBFA. If your child is exactly U6 or U7 age, we've written a dedicated guide to that Friday program — worth a read before you sign up.
Harbord Bowling Club soccer: how to book your spot
For the NBFA-run adult and junior grades, gather your team where team entry applies, or register individually where it's an individual entry format (all the junior girls and boys grades, plus U6 Mixed on Monday). Head to the leagues page first to check which nights still have registration open, since some grades fill before others. For casual hire, holiday camps, or a look at the venue itself, the Northern Beaches venue page has the full rundown of what's on offer at Curl Curl year-round.
What to bring and what happens on the night
Turn up in enclosed footwear suitable for synthetic turf, bring a light and dark shirt if you don't have a team kit, and arrive with enough time to warm up before kick-off. Games run to a fixed schedule across the four pitches, so check your allocated time each week. If you're unsure what your entry fee covers, the entry fee help page spells it out.
FAQs
Who actually runs the summer soccer competitions at Curl Curl?
NBFA, the Northern Beaches Futsal Association, runs the competitions as our partner. KIKOFF provides the venue, pitches and facilities at Harbord Bowling Club. For NBFA-run grades, registration goes through NBFA rather than KIKOFF directly.
When does the Northern Beaches summer season start?
Most NBFA grades start the week of Monday 7 September 2026 and run through to Sunday 20 December 2026. KIKOFF's own Friday junior sessions start Friday 11 September 2026 and finish Friday 18 December 2026.
Is this cage football or futsal rules?
It's futsal-style rules played on line markings, not inside a cage. That means kick-ins from the sideline instead of throw-ins, and a game built around quick, close-control football rather than bouncing off walls.
Do I need a full team to play?
It depends on the grade. Adult grades like Mens, Ladies and Mixed nights are team entry at $1,700. Most junior grades, including the girls' age groups and Monday U6 Mixed, are individual entry from $210, so you can register on your own.
Where do I register for the U6 and U7 Friday sessions?
Those are KIKOFF's own Friday programs at Curl Curl, separate from the NBFA nights, and registration is individual at $250 per child. We've covered this program in detail in a dedicated post if your child fits that age band.
What if I'm not sure which grade suits me?
Check the leagues page for the full list of nights, grades and age bands before you register. If you're still unsure, the venue can point you towards the right night based on your age and experience.
